Steven + Christina | Maryland Wedding

A couple weeks ago I had the honor of photographing Steven and Christina’s beautiful wedding in Frederick, MD. Last fall I flew out there to do their engagement session and we had a blast, so I knew the wedding would be even more fun! Every wedding I photograph is full of love and happiness, but this wedding was overflowing with SUCH EXCITEMENT! We arrived in Maryland and the moment Christina saw me she started jumping up and down saying “You’re here!! This is really happening!” I’m not sure I saw her or Steven that whole trip where they didn’t look like they were about to bust at the seams with joy and excitement…they have such a fun and energetic love between them and it was such pleasure to be part of their special day. Thanks so much guys for such a great time!

Officially “back at work”!!

That’s right, I’m back to work and actually off to Maryland in just a few hours to shoot a wedding! I have about a million blog posts to catch up on, so I’ll get started on that next week when I am back in town. And I’ll just leave with 2 quick pics from our FABULOUS vacation last week in the Pecos wilderness…of course, Rogan had to have a quick photo shoot in the mountains!

You heard right…for July and August a portrait session is only $199 instead of $300!! That includes an hour to hour and a half shoot AND digital negatives! I will only be able to take a limited number of sessions, so call and book yours now.

Lincoln is ONE! | Baby

Little Lincoln is ONE…I can’t believe it. I remember his first session when he was just a few weeks old! This little man has grown so much and has such a fun personality. I was able to make it to Fort Worth one more time before Rogan was born and so we squeezed in this last shoot. Of course, Rogan had to arrive the week I had laid out to do a bunch of picture editing, so FINALLY here are the pics! Thanks Ryan and Katie for being so patient….enjoy!

These last two just make me laugh….it always seems like it’s the adults that end up making the goofy faces for the camera as they try to make their kids laugh!

Lubbock and a baby! | Meet Rogan David Ivey

Sooo, some big changes have taken place here over the last 8 weeks. For those of you who somehow missed it, we’ve moved to Lubbock, TX! Not to worry, I will still travel elsewhere for weddings or portraits—I’ll just be coming from Lubbock instead! Secondly, my little man decided to make his appearance into the world 4 weeks early! On April 14, we had a precious baby boy, Rogan David Ivey, who was 6 lbs 12 oz and 19.5 inches long. He ended up having to spend the first week of his life in the NICU because his lungs needed a bit more developing. It was so very hard to leave the hospital without him, but we proudly brought him home this past Wednesday. He is such a good baby! We are truly blessed! I will not be shooting any weddings until July, and will be taking a limited amount of portrait shoots in May and June. Just give me a holler if you would like to find a time to shoot. And if you are still waiting on your pics from me, don’t worry, they’ll be done asap!

Here’s a few quick shots of the tiny little love of our lives! These are from his first week…birth until he was able to leave the NICU a week later!

Sara + Wes | Wedding Sneak Peek

Sara and I reconnected after several years through facebook and I was absolutely thrilled when she contacted me about shooting her wedding in Lubbock! At the time, there were no plans of moving to Lubbock, but it sure did work out nice that we were already here at the time of her wedding! Sara and Wes have such a sweet and relaxed love. Nothing is forced and they are so easy to be around. Sara and I talked details about the wedding a little less than a week before the big day. But as the days passed, the lovely forecast turned from sunny and 65 to snow!! And sure enough, it snowed the night before her wedding! We took a few pics outside but by that time it was simply freezing and wet. But it didn’t even phase Sara! She is one of the most laid back brides! Even when the breaker blew and no one could get access to the breaker box as the girls were trying to get ready, she just went with the flow. Their ceremony was simple and elegant and the entire afternoon was a fabulous intimate affair with their family and friends. Thank you so much Sara and Wes for letting me in on your special day–it was a treat! Couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to shoot at 33 weeks pregnant!

Titus | Baby

Some of you may remember Kerrie and Jerred’s wedding that I shot back in November of 08…well now they have a new addition to their family–Titus! This little man is so precious! His hair just makes me smile. I can’t believe that he is already 3 months old. Time sure does fly! Here are some of my faves from our session last week….Enjoy!

The Beckhams | Family

Last week my schedule got changed around a bit and I called up Becky to see if she’d rather shoot a day early, since the weather on our schedule shoot date was supposed to be pretty windy. We had been trying to get together to shoot since before Christmas, but between the crazy weather and their work schedules, it just hadn’t worked out yet. Man am I glad we shot this day–the weather was PERFECT!! Keith and Becky have 4 super cute kids and let me tell you, it was a job keeping up with all of them!(Especially pregnant!) But they were all great sports and I love how the pictures of all of them together show each of their personalities. Here are some of my faves and I hope yall find some you like! Enjoy!

Hope + Caleb | Post Wedding Shoot

Hope and Caleb returned from their honeymoon last week and we had a shoot before Caleb returned his tux…since it was dark outside after their ceremony, Hope wanted to be sure we had some fabulous pics of the two of them together. The weather was MUCH nicer…a perfect day to shoot–not quite like the freezing temperatures we’d had a week earlier on their wedding day! Here are some of my faves….enjoy!

Hope & Caleb | Wedding Sneak Peek

Hope and Caleb are such a beautiful couple and it was such a pleasure to be able to capture their special day! These two have such a sweet and genuine love and it was plain to see how happy all of their friends and family were for them. I absolutely loved the purples that Hope chose. The couple chose not to see each other before the ceremony so that Caleb’s first glimpse was of her coming down the aisle to marry him. They even waited for their first kiss to be when they were pronounced man and wife! So sweet! There were such meaningful details like the bracelet Hope wore that every woman in her family for generations had worn at their wedding, and a tiny Bible that was wrapped up into her bouquet. Everyone was so much fun the entire day! While the sun was out and there was no rain, it was FREEZING (literally) outside but the wedding party were all troopers and made it outside for some pics before the ceremony. My face and fingers were numb by the time we were all done outside, but it was well worth it. Here’s some faves from the day…and still to come is Hope & Caleb’s post-wedding shoot when they returned from Jamaica! Wish you the best Hope and Caleb!
