HEY!!
My name is Ginger Ivey and I am a wedding and location portrait photographer. I have the absolute best job in the world! Don’t believe me? Then just watch me at work and you soon will! God has blessed me beyond what I could have ever imagined both in my life and in my business. I get to work with fantastic people like you–what could be better? Honestly though, God gets all the credit for anything and everything amazing you see(if it’s not amazing, then I’m sure it’s my doing!). I was apparently born with an “eye” for photography…because when i started down the path of photography, I knew absolutely NOTHING about it. I had a 35mm point and shoot camera…even I was in awe of the results of my very first photo shoot at the age of 17. Luckily I studies photography in college and was able to learn a whole lot more!!
I love a lot. Ask anyone who knows me! I love love. I love weddings. I love babies. I love couples in love. I love families. I love chocolate covered strawberries(though I don’t normally photograph them!). I love my husband and my fabulous job! I could go on, but it would take forever!! My goal is to capture the essence of who you are and the emotions that play into that….and create beautiful images that you will cherish forever!
So…you clicked on this page to learn a little bit about me…so here’s a tidbit…but to really get to know who I am, call me up and let’s get together, or keep up with the blog and you’ll get a taste of the crazy greatness that is my life!!
-My husband’s name is Allen and he is the greatest gift on earth! We have been married for just over a year now! Aside from Christ, he is my everything!
-I love the movie Elf. I usually watch it about once a month. It’s great even when it’s not Christmas!
-I am a movie quoter. When I lived in New York City, some friends and I got together to watch Napoleon Dynamite(we had no idea what we were getting into!). To this day we quote from that movie every time we’re around each other!
-I won spelling bees when I was in elementary school. Lots of them. I was one place away from getting to go to the national spelling bee in Washington D.C. Yep. I got second place in that one… I HATE spelling. I think I liked it in 2nd and 3rd grade when I started it. But my mom made me keep doing it every year that you could(til 8th grade!!) because I was good at. I will never make my kids do it–although I hope they are good spellers!
-I have baby fever. I’ve had it for years, but finally I can actually do something about it! So yes. If you read this blog, there will DEFINITELY be an ecstatic post when I get pregnant!
-As mentioned above, I love chocolate covered strawberries. A LOT. Costco recently sold strawberries in 4 lb. cartons only, so naturally I had to buy 4 lbs. They were all gone in a few days(and ALL were dipped in chocolate before being eaten!)
-I think I eat weird things. At least Allen says so. I eat peas straight out of the can. I eat raw corn on the cob(that stems from the fact that I was raised on a farm and would just pull an ear of corn straight off the stalk and eat it). I’m sure there’s more, but since I don’t think they are weird, I have a hard time pointing them out!
-I have skied since I was five and recently started snowboarding…if you’re taking a trip, invite me!
-I taught myself how to knit last year…well, at least how to knit a scarf! If I had more time, maybe I’d learn more!
-Post-it notes are one of my best friends…they keep me on top of things!
-I have 2 tattoos.
-I hate coffee. I even hate the smell. I used to work at starbucks(just for the health insurance)…and would gag every time they made us taste different coffees for our training.
-I am a night owl. Which is good since Allen works at night. There better be a really good reason for me to have to wake up before 9am!(don’t worry, babies are the best reason!)
-I want a garden so I can grow my own cucumbers and make pickles like my Granny.
-I love lists. To do lists to be more specific. If I have a lot to do and I get something done that wasn’t on my list, I will add it to my list, just so I can check it off. I know. I’m weird.
-I would lose my head if it wasn’t screwed on.
-I have very crazy dreams and I remember them very vividly. If you would like to know how crazy, just ask Allen–I am constantly telling him about my weird dreams. I bet he wonders about my subconscious sanity sometimes.
-I am probably the most ticklish person you’ll ever meet. You can just act like you are going to tickle me and I will scream.
Anyway, that’s enough! Here’s a few pics of me and the love of my life, last year at our wedding….taken by the ever so talented, Erin Woolsey.
